Frequently Asked Questions

Answers to common questions about nurse coaching, sessions, booking, and the faith-centered approach.

What is a nurse coach?
A nurse coach is a registered nurse who has completed specialized training in coaching. We combine clinical knowledge with evidence-based coaching techniques to help you set and reach health and wellness goals, navigate life transitions, and build sustainable habits. Nurse coaching focuses on your whole person—body, mind, and spirit—not just a diagnosis.
How is nurse coaching different from therapy or medical care?
Therapy often focuses on diagnosing and treating mental health conditions, while medical care diagnoses and treats illness. Nurse coaching is a forward-looking partnership that helps you clarify goals, overcome obstacles, and create action plans. I do not diagnose, prescribe, or replace your licensed medical providers; I complement your care team.
Who can benefit from your coaching?
My coaching is designed for adults seeking personal growth, professional renewal, stress resilience, life transitions, or a more integrated approach to wellness. It is especially helpful for caregivers, healthcare professionals, ministry leaders, and anyone feeling burned out or stuck.
Do you offer virtual or in-person sessions?
Most sessions are held virtually via secure video conferencing, so you can meet from the comfort of your home or office. In-person sessions may be available for clients in the Greater Houston area by special arrangement.
How long are sessions, and how many will I need?
Single sessions are typically 60 or 90 minutes. Many clients choose a package (3, 6, or 12 sessions) to build momentum and see lasting change. The number of sessions depends on your goals; we can discuss a recommended path during your initial consultation.
What is a faith-centered approach?
A faith-centered approach honors the spiritual dimension of healing. I integrate prayer, scripture, and biblical principles only at your invitation and comfort level. You are never required to share my faith to receive compassionate, professional coaching.
Do you accept insurance?
Nurse coaching services are generally not covered by insurance, and I do not bill insurance directly. I can provide a receipt if you wish to seek reimbursement through a Health Savings Account (HSA) or Flexible Spending Account (FSA), but I cannot guarantee eligibility.
How do I book a session?
You can request a session through the online booking page or the contact form. Select your preferred service and time, and I will confirm your appointment within 24 business hours. New clients often begin with a free 30-minute discovery call.
What is your cancellation policy?
I ask for at least 24 hours' notice for cancellations or rescheduling. Sessions cancelled with less than 24 hours' notice may be charged in full. This policy honors both of our time and allows me to serve other clients.
Is what I share kept confidential?
Yes. All coaching conversations are kept confidential within the limits of the law. As a licensed registered nurse, I follow professional ethics and privacy practices. Details are explained in my Privacy Policy.
